San Leo
The town is part of the Montefeltro territory and is characterized by its high and dominant position. The most significant building in San Leo is its fortress, set right on top of the rocky spur.
Gradara
The fortress of Gradara, built in a strategic position between the Romagna and Marche regions, was inhabited by several families: first the Malatestas from Rimini, then the Sforzas from Milan and finally the Della Roveres from Pesaro.
Urbino
This city owes its fortune to the Montefeltro family, and in particular to Duke Federico, one of the most important figures of the Renaissance. The city was the birthplace of Rafael, the illustrious 15th-century artist.
Ravenna
A UNESCO world heritage site and Byzantine capital. It was the meeting point of Roman and Byzantine cultures. It was firstly Galla Placidia, then Odoacre and finally Theodoric who embellished the city with monuments of immense artistic value.
San Marino
San Marino is one of the smallest and oldest republics in the world. The present-day territory of 61 sq.km, defined as such in the 15th century, spreads out over the slopes of the Monte Titano (750 mt above sea level). It is located inland in the north-east of Italy and is approx. 20 km from the Adriatic sea.
